Time for a fresh take
Australians are working hard and not getting ahead. Costs – from groceries to petrol and insurance – are escalating. Housing is out of reach. Businesses are hurting. We’re at a crossroads where things can degenerate into the imported politics of blame and division.
Registration with the AEC as a new party has been lodged. This is expected to be formalised by October. We intend to field candidates in both houses at the 2028 federal election.Â
Community Strong Australia enables the community-led movement to compete on a level playing field with the major parties, increase our influence, and amplify our values and success into a political force for good.

The economy isn’t working for ordinary Australians and trust in politics is at an all-time low.

What is Community Strong Australia?
Community Strong Australia is a new kind of party created to extend the benefits of the community independent movement to more electorates. Â
Who is part of it?
Community Strong Australia was founded by community independent MP Zali Steggall (Warringah) and MP Allegra Spender (Wentworth). We welcome the community to join us.
Why create a new party?
Many communities face significant barriers to participation in politics. New donation laws and the advantages enjoyed by established parties make it harder for grassroots campaigns to compete. We need new pathways that allow more Australians to have a genuine voice, and to extend the community-led movement to the Australian Senate.
